Holidays Are Special

We All Look Forward to Holidays

Holidays are a special time for all of us. We plan for them. We look forward to them. We decorate. We celebrate. We party.

Let’s take a look at some of the more popular holidays throughout the year.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day immediately brings to mind a lot of images. Things like flowers and chocolates, cupids and candies, special cards covered with hearts and expressions of love.

It’s a time for all of us to express how we feel. It’s a popular time to get engaged or even married.

But it’s not just for grown-ups. Who hasn’t exchanged tiny Valentines greetings with classmates while hoping that the person you have a crush on will give you one, too.

Easter

Chocolate bunny rabbits, Easter eggs, Easter baskets and egg hunts. Who hasn’t enjoyed such things?

Easter is a time to celebrate Spring. It’s also a deeply religious time for a lot of people.

Independence Day

Americans celebrate their independence on the 4th of July. Often this encompasses a lot of patriotic decorations, fireworks, picnics and barbecues.

Canadian celebrate on July 1st. You’ll see lots of flags displayed and they also enjoy fireworks, picnic and barbecues.

Halloween

You may not know it, but Halloween is fast becoming the biggest, most celebrated holiday of the year.

There’s always lots of costume parties for the grown-ups and plenty of candy for trick-or-treating youngsters. And the house decorations can get pretty elaborate as neighbors try to outdo each other and try to scare the pants off passersby.

Thanksgiving

We all look forward to Thanksgiving Day, which is often affectionately known as “turkey day”. It’s a grand celebration of a bountiful harvest and a time to count all our blessings.

Christmas

Christmas engenders a lot of special feelings in all of us. Gift-giving and decorations are a big part of Christmas, but it is also about children and families and good will to men and peace on Earth.

New Years Eve

This is the time to really party! Time to ring out the old year and ring in the new. Time to make that New Years resolution and welcome a brand new year.
